The Fellowship of Financial Development Strategy was established in 2017. It aims to become one of the most influential parties in Asia-Pacific region on financial strategies and issues regarding to the GuangDong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area development and The Belt and Road Initiative.


China has implemented a series of economic reform measures, including the GuangDong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the “Belt and Road” Initiative, for boosting China’s economic globalization. Hong Kong as a key city in these national development strategies, we call for practical recommendations to open up potential new areas of economic growth of Hong Kong, so as to tie in with the economic reform of the Country. Thus, the Fellowship of Financial Development Strategy (FFDS) is established and targeted at the development of the GuangDong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the “Belt and Road” Initiative by studying topics such as Hong Kong’s financial economic development derivatives, Hong Kong financial practitioners’ development and Renminbi internationalization to accomplish our vision and mission as one of the most influential financial think-tanks in the Asia-Pacific region. Being engaged in the financial industry and investment business for more than 20 years, I have noticed that the industry has numerous challenges. With the financial knowledge and ideas accumulated, I will lead my professional research team to provide practical and forward-looking financial advice for the related institutions grasping business opportunities in the GuangDong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the “Belt and Road” Initiative.

With the recent transformation of financial industry, Hong Kong is gradually moving towards the era of financial technology. Opportunities are created in which more innovative businesses and products are being developed in every short period of time. However, challenges are also emerged by which the financial industry must stay abreast of the market trends. Therefore, FFDS aims to provide a networking platform for professional institutions and talents in the financial industry. Through our strong membership system, professionals can leverage on our platform to connect and create mutually beneficial relationships with the other financial companies for sharing the latest financial technology and information. In addition, by promoting research focuses on virtual currency, virtual banking, electronic payment and innovation and technology policies, FFDS will bring in new perspectives and lead Hong Kong’s financial industry to develop innovative business strategies, in order to catch up and surpass the great steps of the technological innovation times.

The symbol is derived from a Chinese traditional copper coin with a square hole in the centre.
In the middle of the symbol, the rectangular hole of a coin is in fact Chinese word “目”, which means “eyes” that is formed by two letters “F”. It symbolises FFDS with a great deal of attention and vision on the future development of the financial and economic system. Through the way out of the hole, we make the best use of circumstances, according to market behaviors, actively advocate policies and measures, and promote the development and use of FinTech, so as to embrace the ever growing trend of FinTech around the world.


The entire logo composition is also originated from the Tai Chi yin-yang diagram.
The functioning of society can be well-transformed only when all parties are balanced and reconciled. The flag in the middle has the meaning of leading the market. Complementing with the financial research units of the HKSAR Government, our role is to facilitate the development of FinTech policies and strategies for the industry. At the same time, the shape of the symbol is similar to a shield, meaning that FFDS will maintain its foundation and provide Hong Kong with an initiative to reform its financial policy. This will reinforce the core philosophy that Hong Kong being an international financial center.

As an international financial center, Hong Kong has always been given a lot of attention about the development of its financial industry. Facing up to a changing world, the financial services industry has been transforming under the application of science and technology. New types of technological investment products and the use of transactional products by citizens have become increasingly popular. With the advancement of the Internet and social media platforms, alongside the popular use of smart phones, the society began to launch innovative business models.


FFDS aims to become one of the most influential parties in Asia Pacific region on financial strategies and issues regarding to the Greater Bay area and The Belt and Road Initiative. We turn our visionary into reality by not only conducting studies and making recommendations, but also leveraging on FFDS’ network to make things happen, e.g. influencing on policy making, connecting professional entities in related industries and so on. FFDS addresses the pressing issues for the related industries in the region and embracing the immediate opportunities. At the same time, it also sets its sight on the upcoming trends and technology that will bring impact and even disruption to related businesses/industries, striking the balance between near term and long development.
